MISSIONS
Mt. Bethel Church is very active in mission activities. We currently support:
Shannon Goran; missionary located in the Ukraine
Neighbors, Inc.; a local community help center. We supply food and cash donations for their food shelf; we do a gift card drive at Christmas drive for their adopt a family program
Feed My Starving Children; a local group that provides food world-wide to starving children. We provide both financial support as well as attend monthly food packing sessions.
Riverbend Mission Group; a group of 5 local United Methodist Churches that have gone on several mission trips to Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina as well as to Iowa for flood relief.
Christians Coping With Cancer; this is a group that is run by a member of our congregation once a month for anyone that has been affected by cancer. We have members of the church that attend as well as people from the community.
Relay For Life; we send several teams to the annual Relay for Life event held in So. St. Paul. These teams both raise funds for cancer and participate in an all-night "relay for life" walk.
Operation Christmas Child; our church members donate and assemble dozens of "Christmas boxes" for the Samaritan's Purse organization.
IGH Back to School Bash; in conjunction with other churches in Inver Grove Heights, our church members donate and fill school bags with school supplies for children in our community that can't afford them.
Mt. Bethel hosts Boy Scout Troop 450. The troop meets at the church weekly.
Other organizations/events we have physically or financially supported are: Wycliffe Bible Translators, Bridging, Inc., Teen Challenge, Star Fish Ministry, World Vision, Simley High School Senior Party, Adopt-A-Highway (52) clean-up, IGH Days parade, the Gladys Reyes Fund
