There are lots of Christians and lots of churches, so what makes Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church unique and significant?
Our Music: Our music is a blend of traditional hymns and newer worship songs. We do not "try" to be stylish, but we seek to minister to the Lord by music. We have a choir that sings on special days. We often have soloists. We LOVE it when the kids sing. Music that produces worship in us and blesses God is our goal.
Our ministries: We are smaller than lots of churches, but "smaller" does not describe the size of our hearts! We love God and seek to do His will in our world. We are called to missions. We believe in becoming disciples of Jesus Christ and so we seek to fill our lives with God's Word. All of this works together so that God's work might be done in us and through us.
Our makeup: We have lots of maturity, but we also have the sounds of babies when we gather. Some of us are kids, some are teenagers, some are raising families, and some of us have grown children. Yet we love and include each other in what we do. The important thing is to help each other know Jesus.
Is Mt. Bethel for you? We hope so. Some have visited and are looking for something else in a church. Others have visited and never left. When you come we will worship with you and welcome you into our church family.

Dear Mt. Bethel Family,
One of the sacraments of our church is Holy Communion. In some ways our communion is different from some churches. We have “open” communion, which means you need not be a member of our church in order to share in our service. We serve communion to all who have been baptized; even small children. The founder of Methodism, John Wesley, believed in the importance of communion. He believed that Christians should participate in the sacrament very often. I agree with that practice.
At Mt. Bethel we observe the Lord’s Supper on the first Sunday of the month, as well as some other special times. What if you miss communion? I believe it’s so very important that if you miss on the first Sunday of the month, you should come on Monday night to worship, so that you can take communion. If you cannot come to worship service, I will bring communion to you in your home. If you will call me and invite me to come, I will be very glad to come so that you can be faithful in observing this sacrament.
Jesus told his disciples at the Last Supper, “Take, eat; this is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” And “Drink from this, all of you; this is my blood of the new covenant, poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.”
Some Christians think nothing of missing the Lord’s Supper for months at a time. As Methodists, and more importantly, as Christians, we should carefully remember Jesus’ sacrifice for us by making sure we participate in communion. Pastor John McEachran
