Email Method for Sending a Referral

Referring Ministers, please use this Email method.

Referring Ministers could send a referral to Wedding Ministers by sending the "sorry, I am not available" reply to a couple AND a copy to gary@whatagreatchurch.org. Here is a sample of an email that a Referring Minister might send to a couple for whom the Referring Minister is unavailable, also providing information to them about the referral. This email template could be automatically entered in Outlook or Outlook Express as a 'signature.' Or, you could keep this format in a text file and make the few changes after pasting it into an email.

Dear Bride and Groom,

Congratulations on your engagement and upcoming wedding!

While I am booked at (the date and time of your wedding), I would like to refer you to the 'Matchmaker' - Gary Ritner - and the web site at whatagreatchurch.org/weddingministers so that you may benefit from this service matching couples with wedding ministers at no cost to you.

I'll send an email to the 'Matchmaker' and I will ask him to request that a reputable Wedding Minister in your area (who is available at that date and time) contact you.

You are under no obligation and are free to accept or reject the offer of the Wedding Minister who contacts you. If you would like a different referral or you would like to choose a Wedding Minister in your area, go to

http://www.whatagreatchurch.org/weddingministers/CoupleRegistration.html

to see the Wedding Ministers listed there and then fill out the form to select wedding ministers in your area.

I think you will be very pleased with the 'Wedding Ministers' services!

Best wishes for your wedding!

Blessings on Your Wedding Planning!

(Referring Minister)

Summary of the Referral Process
  • For example, I received a referral from a wedding minister who was not available that day.
  • I emailed a wedding minister in that area with the date, time and location and asked if they were available.
  • That wedding minister emailed me back that they were available.
  • I emailed the details for contacting both the couple and for paying the referring minister (if the wedding planning reached the deposit/payment stage).
  • In some areas, I may email more than one minister asking if they are available.
  • If something happens that the couple does not agree to terms with the Wedding Minister (or the wedding minister indicates that they are not available) and the couple is still looking, I will send info to another minister.
  • Couples gain access to the contact info for wedding ministers when they fill out the form online. They may go to the website of the wedding minister and contact the wedding minister from their web site. Wedding ministers should ask the couple if they found the contact info on the Wedding Minister Web Site (from Gary Ritner).
  • When the referring minister receives $50 for the referral, I ask that $20 be sent to me for my assistance in the process. Send a check for $20 to Gary Ritner, 7957 77th St. Ct. S., Cottage Grove, MN 55016 (PayPal also accepted - send $20 to garyritner@comcast.net and you will receive a receipt from PayPal).
